If you are a journalist reporting on significant rural and regional issues with a connection to the Canberra region you cannot afford not to enter this award.
The Excellence in Rural Journalism Awards is one of the richest rural journalism prizes in the country. Entries are now open and close 6 November 2019.
The Awards have been established by the National Rural Press Club to recognise journalists who report on agricultural, rural or regional news. The connection to the Canberra region should be the subject matter or where the journalist is located.
The Excellence in Rural Journalism Awards have been made possible through the generous support of sponsors Westpac, Animal Medicines Australia, Case IH and CropLife Australia. There are four categories for entries in the awards- best news coverage, best interview, best photograph and best feature, each with a prize of $1000.
The overarching winner will awarded up to $5000 to attend the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists Congress in Denmark from 24-29 June 2020.
The winners will also be eligible to qualify for the Australian Council for Agricultural Journalists professional awards.
The Excellence in Rural Journalism Awards will be announced at an event at the National Press Club Canberra on Wednesday 27 November 2019 (6.30pm- 8.30pm).
